Summary
Kaiser Permanente-Washington Permanente Medical Group is seeking a full-time 1.0 FTE Senior Specialist, Training & Development to join our WPMG HQ team in Renton, Washington.

The Senior Training and Development Specialist in an active member of the Practice and Leadership Development (PLD) team providing teaching, facilitation, and curriculum and materials design for training that supports WPMG business goals. The position also requires effective collaboration with other PLD team members on a variety of training and development programs and projects. The position will have increasing opportunities to participate in leadership consultation services to senior and executive leaders on high priority organizational initiatives.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as faculty for both in person and live virtual PLD programs
Develops and designs PLD programs, curricula and training materials independently and as part of a team.
Maintains current knowledge of adult learning, training modalities and evidence-based training practices.
Maintains current knowledge and skills of both in-person and live virtual facilitation techniques.
Serves as liaison between faculty and support staff in all aspects of production and delivery of curricula and related materials; oversees the planning, production, and publication of materials as needed.
Develops, designs and facilitates customized learning experiences including but not limited to team retreats and specialized workshops
Serves as a subject matter expert for clinician-patient communication, leadership, equity, facilitation skills, organizational culture & change, and clinician wellbeing.
Provides in-depth consultation and training across the Permanente Medical groups on topics listed above.
Provides skilled consultation to WPMG stakeholders including needs assessments, literature review of training content and adult learning, project proposals, and formal feedback on areas of work impacted by leadership development, communication, equity, and wellness.
Serves as program manager for a select suite of curricula (e.g. leadership development, clinician-patient communication).
Identifies and designs effective evaluation methods for assessing the outcomes of training, programs and services.
Completes CME paperwork as needed.
Assists in the preparation of reports on learning activities and programs.
Other duties as assigned including acting as a program lead and cross training.
Must meet WPMG compliance and code of conduct standards.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Adult Learning and Curriculum Development
Knowledge and understanding of curriculum research and development principles and procedures.
Expertise in designing and developing PowerPoint slides, graphics, and converting learning concepts into visual aids.
Knowledge and experience in adult learning, teaching methods, curriculum design, and/or instructional design.
Facilitation and Teaching
Expert teaching and facilitation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with physicians and diverse audiences.
Knowledge of adult learning and teaching methods and standards, particularly working with professional audiences.
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations.
