Texas Oncology is looking for a Phlebotomist to join our team! This full time position will support and work at our South Austin location at 4101 James Comey St . Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country and has approximately 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. What does the Phlebotomist do?
The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting and processing of specimens from patients. Assists with patient flow as needed.

Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities:

• Will work front desk to process incoming orders for lab testing.
• Properly processes labeled specimens according to policy and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Assures pre-authorizations and completes appropriate consent (ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.
• Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance program, including accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists.
• Other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Phlebotomist position will have the following background and experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomist ASHP preferred.
• Minimum of 1-year phlebotomy experience required.
• Willing to consider entry and mid-level experience.
• Must be proficient in drawing blood and must be comfortable with waived testing.
• Multi-Tasking, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
