The Clinical Informatics Manager position encompasses the development and management of clinical applications and standards under the leadership of a Director of Clinical Pharmacy Informatics.
- Manages the development, optimization and the execution of clinical pharmacy applications/functional areas to include such activities as processing of change requests to include analysis, design, design validation, creation of test plan, and establishing the training materials for educating clinicians as needed. Establishes appropriate communication strategies to disseminate change requests and communicate changes in standards to appropriate groups.
- Researching, developing, and managing clinical standards for applications and functions within the Pharmacy system
- Standardizes the clinical pharmacy content across the organization and collaborates with various subject matter experts and facilitates advisory councils for assigned applications and clinical groups
- Communicates within and across various teams including but not limited to core system builders using design spreadsheets and office applications to communicate designs, corporate clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Remains up to date on current system functionality and established recommended practices in the industry and by vendor as appropriate and provides feedback to application vendor to support future enhancements
- Assures clinical content is developed and maintained in accordance with state, federal, accrediting body statues, regulatory agencies, industry standards, and corporate policies and procedures
- Directs, coordinates, plans, organizes and monitors work efforts with team members and vendor support
Qualifications:
Required:
- Analytical skills required to collect information from diverse sources, interpret results and apply knowledge of best practices in the development of solutions for process and product improvement
- Strong oral, written, presentation skills
- Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school with a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) or B.S. in pharmacy
- Advanced degree (MBA, M.S, MHA)
- Previous experience in a supervisory or manager role in Pharmacy
- Licensure as a Pharmacist in any state
Preferred:
- Previous experience with design, implementation and support of Cerner clinical systems
- Completion of an ASHP residency
- Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy Specialty (BCPS)
