Responsible for developing new and expanding existing programs with local, regional and national colleges and universities, primarily to benefit undergraduate, graduate and medical school students in non-clinical programs throughout departments and locations across Geisinger Health. This includes internships, externships and cooperative educational opportunities, joint degree programs, adjunct appointments, foreign visitor program, graduate student research, teaching and mentoring opportunities. Responsibilities include developing relevant policies and procedures, tracking systems, evaluation tools and criteria, and information materials for both internal and external audiences. Additional responsibilities include the management of recruitment, educational training, and strategies to expand programs and recruit applicants. This position serves as a liaison between students, universities, colleges, community colleges, secondary schools and system entities. Additional core responsibilities include identifying mechanisms to fund programs, including potential grant opportunities.
Job Duties
Identifies opportunities to develop new, or expand existing non-clinical partnerships and educational opportunities with local, regional and national universities/colleges and secondary schools to support system priorities.
Works within internal departments and with partner institutions to implement programs, managing all aspects of the non-clinical educational/training interface.
Prior to posting a new position, collaborates with Hiring Manager to conduct intake session including a review of the approved job description, identifying the core competencies desired, the most important 2-3 preferred requirements of a top candidate, team environment and unique aspects of the opportunity (employee value proposition); develops job postings which will market the position to targeted audience.
Coordinates the development and implementation of validated assessments related to behavioral and skill assessments; monitors reporting and measures of adverse impact.
Conducts behavioral-based interviews and partners with Relationship Management and Organizational Development to provide hiring manager with resources and education/training related to interviewing and selection.
Calculates and recommends starting rates/compensation for internal and external candidates by reviewing qualifications, experience, salary/grade, internal equity and other market conditions.
Presents verbal and written offers to candidate as a Total Rewards package and negotiates with candidate in partnership with hiring manager to obtain acceptance and closure.
Collaborates with compensation specialist as needed and required by policy or agreed upon protocols.
Maintains current knowledge and education of regulations, laws and policies which impact specific positions and demonstrates the understanding whenevaluatingand adjudicating background reports.
During pre offer visits collaborates with the hiring manager and other members of the talent team to create and implement standard work which delivers an exceptional visit experience for the candidate and their family.
During Post-Offer On-boarding engages and partners with key stakeholders in Credentialing, Employee Health, HR and Department Operations to create and implement standard work which delivers a well-coordinated and synchronized on-boarding experience.
During relocation and welcome stage engages and partners with key stakeholders to create and implement standard work which delivers an orientation agenda that acclimates new employees to our culture.
For Talent Engagement develops creative programs and strategies designed to retain and engage talent.
Develops and utilizes reports, analytics and data related to enhancing the internship to hire probability.
For the Employee Experience develops and distributes a standardized check-in electronic surveys for newly hired employees with a focus on retention and an enhanced candidate experience.
Utilizes data to measure and interpret the experience; accurately interprets and communicates themes for action in partnership with Relationship Management to retain employees.
For employee Quality and Performance develops check in electronic surveys for hiring managers with positions with a focus on ROI of the program, retention and an enhanced employee experience.
Utilizes data to measure and interpret results; accurately interprets and communicates themes for action to hiring manager in partnership with HR colleagues to retain employees.
Develops and maintains materials and information for both internal and external audiences, including the maintenance of the program Web Site.
Responsible for ongoing communication with Human Resources partners; liaising closely with students, universities, and system departments.
Represents system at college visits, conferences, workshops, and presentations.
